Farm History:
Nettle Meadow is a 50 acre 100 head goat farm in the
Southern Adirondacks. Nettle Meadow has been making excellent
flavored chevres and semi-aged goat cheeses since the
1980s.
We are committed to organic principles and our animals
are fed only certified organic grains and hay and a wide
variety of wild and domesticated herbs for health and
vitality of the goats and their milk.
Kunik is our unique and voluptuous cheese which was recently
trademarked for use at Nettle Meadow alone. Kunik is a
white mold-ripened wheel made from goat's milk and Jersey
cow's cream. The blend makes kunik far richer and more
flavorful than a brie type cheese yet more subtle and
sumptuous than similarly ripened goat cheeses. Crane Mountain
is a white mold ripened square made entirely of goat cheese
with a dynamic taste and texture.
